Goals Schmoals…

I don’t know about you, but I am about 100% tired of all the resolution and goal-setting crap that has been inundating my inbox over the past week. If you are anything like me, you make goals by the day if not the minute. Each day we start out with a new goal in mind, a fresh start we want to begin. What is special about January 1?
All the science says that very few resolutions made on the new year stick, and yet knowing this, we continue to make them. I have never made a New Year’s resolution that stuck, not even through the month of January that I can recall. The changes I’ve made that really worked were ones I made throughout the year as I was ready for them. You all know my motto- one day at a time. One thing at a time.

For example, those of you that have been with me on this journey know that I started working on different workout systems last February, my nutrition in March, exploring new hobbies over the summer, and focusing more on school this last fall. I started a new workout program at the beginning of December, I’m reigning my nutrition back in after the plethora of Christmas treats that I just couldn’t turn down, both things I was ready for at the time. I didn’t put them off until the 1st just for the sake of it being the New Year, and I didn’t even set a time frame for them that would put additional pressure on me. I just make one change at a time as it comes up.

I will acknowledge the New Year and celebrate another year beginning, but the goals and resolutions will have to make their appearance some other time. I have better things to do- like pushing forward with goals I have already set into motion.

I wish you the best year to come full of successfully tackling one goal at a time.

Happy New Year!
